When: Sunday, June 26th
Where: The historic 69th Regiment Armory (Lexington Avenue and East 25th Street) in New York City.
What: Multifaith humanitarian project to build 7,500 emergency hygiene kits for Syrian refugees. We are working in partnership with Heart to Heart International, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and Orient for Human Relief to distribute the kits to Syrian refugees living in Turkey.
Who: Leaders and members of New York’s faith-based communities – Buddhists, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and others. Children (ages 7+), high school and college students, adults, families, and seniors are all invited to register to volunteer.
How: Volunteers will sign up for a one-hour shift (12:30pm, 2:00pm, or 3:30pm) to assemble the hygiene kits. You can sign up with your organization or volunteer on your own. Go to our online sign-up page for more information.
Organizers: The Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, in collaboration with Heart to Heart International.
Goal: We want to show the city, the nation and the world that our faith communities can come together and work shoulder to shoulder to help Syrian refugees in dire need. This is what we call “interfaith with impact.”
