On October 26th, MALA partnered with Eat OffBeat and Whole Foods Manhattan to provide a delectable 4 course meal prepared by Chef Nasrin from Iran. Eat OffBeat is a social enterprise dedicated to transforming the lives of refugees resettled in NYC by providing them an opportunity to prepare and serve authentic and home-style foods from their culture to the public. Whole Foods is a regional grocery store that works to source and supply organic, natural, and sustainable products on their shelves to encourage a healthier American society.

Foods served include a refreshing yogurt, cucumber dip with pita chips called “maast o khiar”; a pomegranate, mint, olives and cilantro appetizer; a saffron infused chicken; and a fruit salad drizzled with a tangy orange vinaigrette.
