On Monday December 4th, The Muslim American Leadership Alliance held its second annual event at Gentleman’s Cooperative located at 111 W. Jackson in Chicago, Illinois.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Advisory Council of the Muslim American Leadership Alliance, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and thanks for the community’s support of MALA’s Annual Gala. We are grateful for the generosity and commitment of our Annual Gala guests, volunteers and local businesses for making our annual event a success. Together with your support, we were able to raise over $10,000.

MALA cannot continue – or grow – its outreach to the community through events, programs, and educational experiences without your support. Over the last year, your philanthropy has achieved so much. Your participation and donations have allowed MALA to host events nationwide and collect over 450 stories, where they are archived for generations to come at the Library of Congress.

At this year’s Annual Gala, MALA honored Dr. Rajesh Iyengar for his commitment to education and pledging to fund our Scholarship Program for the next 5 years. This year, we had over 130 applicants for the program. Attendees enjoyed a live performance by artist Yoni Einhorn. We graciously thank our generous hosts: Gentlemen’s Co-operative; Michael Stark from the Chicago Leadership Alliance; Matthew Moore from Artist Replete; and our sponsors, Mercadito and 20 Grand Vodka.

With over 400+ individual and foundation donors, we look forward to continuing our  journey of growth and milestones with you in 2018.
